Kris has completely changed our lives with Sophie, we cannot thank her enough!!!  Two months ago, I was reluctant to have Sophie out in public places, let alone socialize her with other dogs.  She would get really aggressive and I had no idea how to handle those situations.  As a ridgeback mix, Sophie is a hunter by nature and full of energy.  So we thought that by strapping on rollerblades and having her pull us around the neighborhood everyday to chase all the jack rabbits, we were allowing her to be the dog she wanted to be.  Problem was, we were doing a lot of things for Sophie that she wanted rather than what she needed.  We tried other dog trainers and took obedience lessons, but nothing really seemed to stick.  Kris came to our rescue after Sophie got in a fight with another dog in our neighborhood one day while on a walk.  She came over to our house for a couple of intense lessons and we immediately saw results.  The one on one, in home lessons were by far the most educational for us to learn how to handle Sophie in our lives.  I feel like my wife and I were really the ones in training, rather than Sophie.  Kris worked with us and showed us how to provide structure for Sophie and still let her be a dog.  Now we can walk Sophie on heel and even have her listening to commands off leash in the fields surrounded by her jack rabbits.  THANKS KRIS!!!!

When my husband and I started searching for a new dog, it was with a heavy heart, as we had just lost our last dog.  One day while searching the internet I saw a beautiful yellow Lab named Sadie in a picture on Craigslist that Annie had posted and I was in love!

I contacted Annie and she drove all the way to San Mateo to introduce us to Sadie.  Not only was Sadie and beautiful girl, she was incredibly well behaved!  I asked Annie how long she had spent training her and she reported it had only been two weeks!  In my opinion Annie is a miracle worker.  Sadie had been rescued from a sad situation and trained by Annie in only a couple of weeks.   Not only was Sadie trained well, but she was PERFECT!  We have had Sadie for 4 months now and she has become a huge part of our family.  She is a great dog and we owe everything to Annie.  Thank you FabDogz for finding, rescuing, and training our newest family member.

lazlo.gifKris & Annie,

I just want to thank you both so much for your generosity in coming down here, and Joleene at Dogworks.org for arranging it. The information you gave us was so complete, detailed, and totally invaluable. There's so much stuff out there that talks in really vague terms about "leadership," and "becoming alpha," but has no concrete regime to follow to achieve that. Just the concept that I could control the dog with my voice opened up a huge window of understanding for me. You are rock stars!

I honestly still don't know if we are the right people to give Laszlo what he needs, but your visit gave me WAY more confidence that all the scary behavior problems can be helped, and we're committed to giving Laszlo a chance. Thanks again!

PS. Since I started this email we had two unannounced guests at the door and were able to maintain a down-stay through both visits!!!

We recently used Fabdogz to help us with our 2 Maltese dogs who we adopted from Metropolitan Maltese Rescue. When we first brought the dogs home they were using a training pad to go to the bathroom and also going all over our apartment. Sadie was attacking other dogs when we took her for walks and Nicky would pull the whole walk.

When we called Fabdogz, we spoke with Annie Bailey. She was understanding and very knowledgeable. We have been through the program and are thrilled to say that not only is Nicky not pulling on our walks, but Sadie no longer barks uncontrollably at other dogs. Both Nicky and Sadie are now going to the bathroom outside and not in the apt. at all and we don't even have to give them treats for doing this! We have been thrilled with the service Annie provided and would recommend Fabdogz to any of our friends in the future.

When I first met Kris our 85 lb. Golden Retriever, Obi, was 5 years old.  He had been through extensive training elsewhere at 6 months old and had many of the basics, but I didn’t know how to handle my huge, bundle of alpha male energy.  No one trained me.  Although he was off leashed trained, it wasn’t working for me!  He would stay with me when it was convenient for him and bolt when he found a better offer.  Believe it or not most people do not appreciate 85 lbs of muscle barreling toward them, even if it is a Golden Retriever!  Obi understood all the basic commands: sit, down, heel, come, stay, release, but really obeyed them only when he thought it was good idea.  Having him in the house was a disaster, he blew through like a tornado with screaming kids and hysterical cats flying in every direction in his wake.

Within minutes of being with us Kris identified several areas we could work on and assured me I would be on the path to enjoying my sweet Obi in no time at all.  In less than an hour I felt I had control over my dog.  With practice and continued support from Kris , I can now run with Obi on the bike trail with no leash, releasing him to go play and then immediately bringing him back to heel when necessary.  He never strays far from me and he is a pleasure to be with.  While he is still a lot of dog to have in the house I feel I am now able to control him when he comes in and it can be enjoyable for everyone.

This program works if you implement the advice and training Kris provides.

Kris,

We wanted to thank you for your help with Tank.  Tank being a big boy, Pit/Pointer cross, at 75 lbs of solid muscle he can intimidate some people and with the fact that he was a rescue at 6mos old we weren't sure what his previous life had been like.  He was showing signs of aggression when on leash around dogs unknown to him, but was submissive to our other family dogs.  He is a very strong, rambunctious boy and after our first lesson you showed that with a few different techniques that we could get through to him.  You provided me with insight that I hadn't ever thought of, regarding how he was fed, when and who initiates playtime and personal space.  After the first lesson he showed instant improvement in his ability to focus on us.  But when we took him out it was still the strange aggressive looking reactions to other dogs.  I was about to give up on him ever being able to go out because I was mostly embarrassed that I couldn't control my dog, let alone the fact that he could possibly hurt some other dog.  You came to the house and were able to see that at home he had turned into a gentleman, he was following commands.  With your help and constant guidance I was able to find out that Tank truly wasn't aggressive and in fact he was so submissive that it manifested in a strange aggressive looking outburst when on leash.  Your understanding of the way dogs think and react was impressive.  You were always there to offer advice and options when I was about to give up.

Tank is now a good boy, and I have the piece of mind to know that there is no aggression in
him.  Even though he may still act up now and again I can take control of the situation with the tools you provided me.

Thank you again for your truly professional training and your personal investment in our dogs, it has made a difference in our lives.

bayleigh_and_fam.jpg"Like many people, I opted to pay $99 and attend an 8-week obediance class at a local pet store for my puppy, Bayleigh.  8 weeks later we attended graduation, our dog now able to sit when she wanted to, come when she wanted and lay down minimally.  Knowing we wanted to raise a dog who was enjoyed by others instead of a pest, we turned to FabDogz.  Within moments of watching our trainer Annie work with Bayleigh, we were amazed.  She truly showed us what it means to be the "alpha".  Making sure your dog knows who is boss is of the utmost importance.  Annie showed us how to do this while at the exact same moment showing the dog love and respect.  Working with Annie has made our lives so much easier.  Bayleigh now listens to the command "Leave it!" so much that we can have a carrot(her favorite) on her paw and she will leave it alone.  She also stays in a down position.  We are now proud to have our dog out of her crate when people are in our home.  I highly recommend FabDogz.  They  truly will make a difference in your lives."  Thank you Annie!

Thank you so much Kris for "correcting" a truly wonderful dog and placing her in our home.  Amy's prior owners threw their hands up and said, "We're done with her" when they couldn't seem to keep her from running away.  Kris spent a few hours with Amy, and decided her issues were nothing that couldn't be resolved.  Kris went over tips and supplies Amy would need to be successful in our home - and successful she is!  We have had Amy is little over a year, and we are confident she would never run away now.  In fact, today we can leave the door wide open, and the farthest Amy goes is on our front lawn.  Amy goes to dog park almost every night, and she behaves beautifully with both human folk and animal folk alike.  She's such a joy to have, but this would not have happened without Kris's tutelage.  Kris, thank you again for your expert training both in person and on the phone - it worked!

mya1.jpg"Before I met Annie my house was in chaos.  I had just brought home a rescued dog that turned our world upside down.  But I couldn't bear to send her back.  So I called Annie.  She came over and within one lesson my life came back to order.  She trained ME! From that first lesson forward I was able to find a new way of "being" with all my animals. I am the leader of my pack now and everyone in my home has found a level of peace that we could not have ever imagined. Because of Annie's patience, knowledge and amazing skills I have learned to speak softly and carry a big heart."

dsc02915.jpgThank you so much for all your help with training our Frenchie, Gizzy.  When we first got her she was only 10 weeks old.  We decided very early that we wanted to be good pet owners and teach our dog obedience and manners.  We wanted to do things right by her and maintain our sanity.  Although "sanity" is not a reality with a young puppy, she is definitely a "work in progress".  A little on the stubborn side.  However we've learned so much from you.  I've had dogs before and have never been shown how to properly teach them manners and obedience. All of the techniques you've shown us work beautifully when applied correctly and consistently.  She is now eleven months old and is well on her way to being a well-behaved young lady.

Porter.jpgPorter is our 3 year old, Catahoula Leopard dog, who is a sweet and playful boy. We had taught him all the general obedience and he was fairly compliant around the house. However, walks were another story! Porter would be fine until he saw another dog on leash and go crazy lunging/barking/growling as we got closer and continue this until we were well past. Needless to say, we were very anxious on our walks and Porter was always watching for other dogs and very intense.

After working with other trainers and getting nowhere we finally found Kris at FabDogz. Kris has been nothing but amazing in so many ways! She demonstrates empathy for us as the dog owners and shows her compassion for Porter. She listens to us and focuses on the issues that we face with Porter. She is very flexible with her methods and approaches to helping us resolve his issues. Kris always checks in to get updates and will adjust her training as needed to assure the issues are resolved.

Now, only 4 months later and Porter is a happy boy on his walks and we are much less anxious on those walks! Thank you Kris!
